Healing through purpose. Empowering through play.

Where young athletes find their voice and high school mentors find their purpose. We believe in the transformative power of mentorship, connection, and sports to build emotional resilience and lasting community.

WELCOME TO MBA

Our Vision

We envision a world where youth sports protect mental health, not compromise it.
The Mentor Ball Alliance creates safe spaces where student athletes find connection, learn to navigate pressure and change, and heal through mentorship, service, and support. Using sport as the entry point, we develop emotionally strong leaders by caring for the whole athlete—mind, body, and future.

Our Mission

Building emotionally resilient young athletes through mentorship, connection, and the healing power of play.

Our Core Values

Emotional Well-being First
We prioritize mental health and emotional resilience over competition. Every player is valued for who they are, not just what they can do on the field.

Authentic Mentorship

We believe in one-on-one relationships where mentors and players learn from each other. It's about connection, not just instruction.

Healing Through Purpose

Service is transformative. When mentors invest in young players, they discover their own resilience, leadership, and sense of purpose.

Accessibility & Inclusion

Quality mentorship shouldn't be a luxury. We're committed to making our program accessible to all young athletes regardless of background or ability.

Community Over Competition

We build a community where every player feels accepted, supported, and celebrated for their unique journey.

Our Impact

By connecting young athletes with dedicated mentors, we're not just teaching baseball—we're building the next generation of emotionally healthy, socially responsible young people. Every mentorship relationship creates ripples of positive change in families, schools, and communities.

When young players experience consistent support and belonging, they develop the confidence and resilience to overcome challenges both on and off the field. When high school mentors step into leadership roles, they discover their own capacity to make a difference.

Our Why

Our sons started baseball at ages seven and three. They played rec and travel ball, excelled in school, and had structure, coaching, and support. We did everything “right.”

Yet as our eldest entered high school, an injury sidelined him and crushed his dream of playing freshman-year baseball. The injury caused significant physical pain and required intense commitment—rehab, patience, and resilience to recover and fight his way back onto the field. That loss and long recovery triggered a mental health struggle we didn’t see coming. Our youngest, meanwhile, joined a local rec league simply to stay active and connected.

Purpose. Leadership. Connection.

Stepping into a mentor role helped our eldest heal, rebuild confidence, and rediscover his value beyond performance. That experience opened our eyes to something powerful: baseball and mentorship can be transformative tools for emotional well-being—not just athletic development.

We reimagine youth baseball as a pathway for emotional and community healing. Too many talented young athletes lack access to quality coaching and mentorship, while high school students often struggle to find meaningful ways to lead, serve, and grow.

The Mentors Baseball Alliance bridges this gap by pairing young players with dedicated high school mentors. This model prioritizes emotional well-being, reduces favoritism in volunteer-coached leagues, and builds a stronger generation of emotionally healthy, socially responsible young people—on and off the field.

Breaking the “Daddy Ball” Cycle

90% of rec coaches are parent volunteers, most without experience. This leads to frustration, favoritism, and unequal growth.
By integrating trained teen mentors, we create a more balanced, skills-based system where all players thrive.

Our Solution

Mentorship Through Baseball

Trained high school athletes mentor younger players in their community

Mentorship provides structure, leadership experience, and belonging

It supports emotional health while fulfilling school volunteer hour requirements

It turns their love for baseball into a tool for transformation

Youth Players Benefit Too

  • Many kids start baseball in low-cost rec leagues (under \$160/season)

  • But most teams are coached by untrained volunteers

  • High-quality coaching exists — but at \$300–\$1,500+/mo for travel ball

This leaves many talented kids without access or opportunity

Through MBA, they get real skill development — for free

What We Need

To launch and grow our youth mentorship program, we are seeking startup funds to support essential needs such as mentor training, uniforms, equipment, and insurance. Our model is built on strong partnerships with schools, mental health providers, and local rec leagues to ensure a holistic and accessible approach.

We welcome the support of community sponsors and donors who believe in our mission, as well as the guidance of dedicated board members, advisors, and certified volunteer coaches committed to making a lasting impact.
